The Foolish Servant

What will be our posture when Jesus returns? Will we be found as faithful and effective disciples? Or will we be caught flat-footed, indulging in selfish desires, and mistreating the people around us?

Matthew 24:27
Jesus told a story about a servant who wasn’t ready for his master’s return. This servant mistreated others, lived for pleasure, and wasted time on distractions. But Jesus wants us to be different. We should live wisely, making the most of each day. Getting drunk or high wastes time and shows a lack of purpose. Jesus said we should be ready for His return by living lives of love, focus, and self-control. Some people might get tired of waiting for Jesus to come back. But Jesus warned against losing hope. He’s waiting to give more people a chance to follow Him. So let’s stay busy doing what He wants us to do. When He comes back, He’ll reward those who are ready. Let’s make sure we’re among them.
