What do we do when everything seems out of control—when we’re overwhelmed by forces we don’t understand or can’t overcome? In today’s story, Jesus heals many people who are suffering, casting out demons that recognize Him as the Son of God. But instead of allowing the demons to speak, Jesus silences them, demonstrating His authority over both the physical and spiritual realms. Even the demons acknowledge His power, but it is Jesus who chooses the time and manner in which His identity is revealed. How often do we let other voices define our worth or power in life?
